About O-Six Impact Partners
Our Story
We don’t doubt Margaret Mead’s sentiment. In fact, we’ve seen it. As the founders of O-Six Impact Partners, we have worked within and alongside dynamic, impact-focused companies and have witnessed the power of capital markets to effect positive change. Our experience informs us that the many impassioned investors and entrepreneurs of the financial industry can accomplish amazing things… but sometimes they could use a little help as the investment industry is highly commoditized and dominated by a handful of oligopolistic giants.
We founded O-Six Impact Partners to help mission-oriented financial organizations succeed in the face of those immense challenges.
As seasoned finance and sustainability professionals who have successfully helped to grow small and large firms, we are uniquely positioned to help address the challenges of gaining market share within the increasingly greenwashed ESG industry. We are privileged to lend our combined 35 years of financial sales experience and combined 11 years of ESG experience to firms that share our mission.

Our Team

In 2007, I started my career in the financial industry. After several years, I realized my values didn't align with my work, prompting me to take a sabbatical in SE Asia. During my travels, I was confronted with the harsh realities around resource accessibility and I became wildly inspired to return home and focus my time and energy into addressing the problems I encountered.
I made the decision to return to academia and purse a graduate degree in Ecological Economics, combining my financial background with my passion for sustainability. I completed a Masters in Ecological Economics from the University of Edinburgh in 2018, focusing the entirety of my dissertation on the behavioral drivers of sustainable investors to help inform asset managers in constructing investment vehicles.
Throughout my career, I've explored various aspects of the financial industry, and in the last decade, I've dedicated my personal & professional life to promoting sustainability. Recently, I co-founded O-Six Impact Partners with my friend ancolleague, Dan Carreno. Our mission is to support emerging mission-driven firms by leveraging our expertise and dedication.

I worked on Wall Street for years, gaining valuable insights into capital markets and learning from some of the brightest investors in the industry. Over time, I grew disillusioned by a system that too often prioritized a privileged few over the general well-being of people and the planet. Eventually, I realized capital markets could function better, offering investors a means to grow wealth while promoting a more sustainable economy.
Ultimately, I left a comfortable career to pursue a graduate degree in environmental policy and dedicated my career to sustainable investing. After helping to scale an impact-focused asset manager and an ESG data provider, I co-founded O-Six Impact Partners with my mission-driven colleague, Brittany Damico. Each day, I'm motivated by O-Six's mission: to empower sustainability-focused investment firms to excel in our competitive industry.
In my off hours, I enjoy exploring Colorado with my wonderful wife of 15 years and our two dogs, Mickey and Phyllis.
Who is O-Six?
Thirty years ago, visitors to our nation’s first National Park, Yellowstone, observed an ailing ecosystem ridden with imbalance. This was a direct result of one of Yellowstone's keystone species - the wolves - being nearly exterminated due to fear and predator control efforts. Yellowstone's once pristine landscape was dying. Overpopulated elk ravaged vegetation leading to a plethora of natural infirmities, most notably resulting in the dwindling of aspen trees and the declining beaver population as the elk out-competed them for food.
That was until conservationists reintroduced the gray wolf to the Yellowstone ecosystem in 1995. The wolves quickly thrived in their native habitat and restored balanced to the natural systems of North America. Elk populations declined leading to the recovery of aspen trees and other critical vegetation. Coyotes retreated. Rodents and raptors flourished. Even the shape of the rivers changed as the beaver population healed and replenished.
In ecology, these trickle down effects are known as a trophic cascade: a phenomenon that inspired our firm. As the wolves of Yellowstone once created unexpected and astounding impacts on their lived reality, we hope that the companies we serve will cause a cascade of positive impact that benefit stakeholders and shareholders alike.
In tribute to the amazing canines of Yellowstone National Park, we named our firm for wolf 832F, otherwise known as “O-Six”, an incredible female alpha wolf that successfully shepherded her pack through the unforgiving environment of the mountain west. O-Six was dedicated, fierce, determined, and always punched above her weight; all qualities we seek to emulate on behalf of our clients.
